Long Branch Photographer Named Platinum Medalist at International Photographic Competition

Andrea Phox of Andrea Phox Photography is honored by her peers and jurors for high-quality photography

Andrea Phox of Andrea Phox Photography, Long Branch, NJ was named a Platinum Medalist during Professional Photographers of America’s 2015 International Photographic Competition. Phox’s work will be on display at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia, Jan. 10-12, 2016. This International Photographic Exhibit is held in conjunction with Imaging USA, an annual convention and expo for professional photographers and several photographic associations. A panel of 43 eminent jurors from across the United States selected the top photographs from nearly 5,200 total submitted entries at Gwinnett Technical College in Georgia. Judged against a standard of excellence, just over 2,100 images were selected for the General Collection and 1,085 (roughly 21 percent) were selected for the esteemed Loan Collection—the best of the best. The Loan Collection images will all be published in the much-anticipated “Loan Collection” book and over 200 selected General Collection images will be published in the “Showcase” book by Marathon Press.

The level of the award is determined by how many of those four images receive the highestpossible honor: acceptance into the PPA Loan Collection, which is displayed at photographic exhibitions, conventions and other photography events. Phox was named a Platinum Medalist, meaning that three of her merited images entered the PPA Loan Collection. In 2015, she was one of only 69 Platinum photographers of the Year.

Master Photographer and a Platinum Award

I am excited to share my good news that today I received 4 merits for my 4 image entries into IPC- Professional Photographers of America’s Annual International Competition. Three of the merited images were chosen to to be included in the prestigious Loan collection. This Loan collection becomes a beautiful hardbound coffee table book as well as a traveling exhibition Internationally.

I would love to share them with you on this blog post but I cannot. Images that go Loan are again judged for other awards and if any images are published before judging is done they will be disqualified.

The best of it is I am now granted Master Photographer certification through the PPA and I am one of PPA Platinum Photographers for 2015.

It is an honor to be judged by my piers who have done the work to be judges. They adhere to the highest standards and are guided by strict guidelines when they are assigned to judge. The IPC  process is dignified and fair.

I have been competing since 2005 and  had 3 merits until the 2014 IPC when my 4 entries all meritied and 2 went loan.

I have watched the judging for the last 3 days due to the fact they have live streaming of the judging rooms. I saw 2 of my works get challenged and it was  exciting.

The images below to this blog entry are my 2014  in the loan book and the cover of the book. Foothill  castle  also won the Lexjet award. Thanks for looking
